Anthropology Program Objectives

1. Provide students with a survey of the history of anthropology and its major contributors.
2. Provide a survey of sub-disciplines, current trends, and specialized terminology of the field.
3. Promote an awareness of worldwide cultural diversity to foster an appreciation of the commonality of mankind.
4. Provide an introduction to research methodology used by anthropologists.
5. Reinforce reading, writing, and speaking skills to help prepare students for transfer to a four-year institution.
