The College of Southern Idaho Law Enforcement program is designed to prepare students to enter the law enforcement profession. The CSI Law Enforcement Program is certified by the Idaho Peace Officer Standards & Training Academy (POST) Council, thus eliminating a graduate's need to attend the Basic Patrol Academy before taking the POST Challenge Exam for Peace Officer Certification in Idaho.
Because the Law Enforcement Program is governed by the POST standards for certification, applicants to the CSI Law Enforcement Program must meet certain standards for admission. The admission standards may include; backgrounds checks of the applicant’s criminal & driving records. Additional screening such as; Physical Fitness, Polygraph and interviews may be conducted as well.
Students are encouraged to continue their educational opportunities through on campus courses or through distance learning. Areas of continuing education may include an academic degree in Criminal Justice offered through CSI. Click on the links provided for more detailed information.
